Good evening and Salam Sejahtera.

Welcome to the “Pesta Tanglung 2017”.

Congratulations to JKKK Bukit Bendera as the main organizer for this event this evening. My compliments to all the splendid performances throughout this evening. The highlight of this event that started upon nightfall where children from local vicinity had joined in a “Tang Lung” procession.

Ladies and gentlemen,

The atmosphere at Penang Hill has improved significantly over the years. With the implementation of new projects which are more focused on the comfort and convenience of visitors, the numbers of visitors have grown from 200,000 many years before. In the year of 2016, statistic shows that there were more than 1.6 million visitors who have visited Penang Hill. From January to August 2017 we have exceeded more than a million visitors (1,048,740) about 11.9% higher than 2016 (936,846) for same period of time. Penang Hill is well on its way to becoming the hill resort of choice in Malaysia.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Once again would like to congratulate JKKK Bukit Bendera for making this event successful and I hope this will be a part of annual events in promoting diversity and bringing the community together to celebrate “Pesta Tanglung”.
