Ladies and Gentlemen

I would like to thank M Summit Group for inviting me to officiate this momentous event today, and I would also like to seize this opportunity to wish the Muslim guests here Selamat Hari Raya.

Ladies and gentlemen,

We at the Penang State Government are always concern about the welfare of our people in the state. With the rise of living costs in the recent years, we see the need to introduce plans that would help ease their burden, ultimately to battle poverty in the state.

Hence, the introduction of this affordable housing scheme is aimed at addressing this major concern. We want to enable more locals, especially young families from mid- to low-income groups, to own their first home without causing a financial toll on them. For example, those who have just started working or big families with multiple responsibilities may find it hard to make ends meet let alone set aside a huge downpayment for a Penang house sold at the current market rate.

Encouraging developers to cut down on their profits, so more people could own their first home, is never an easy task. Thus, we are glad to have a socially responsible developer like M Summit Group, to be the first private developer to have responded to our call by taking up this impressive project with a total development cost of RM190million.

This commendable effort has in a way spurred us to pursue further with this affordable home scheme, recruiting more property developers to join us, in making this plan a success.

Here, I would also like to say ‘good job’ to YB Jagdeep and his team for bringing such positive changes to our state’s housing and town planning. Not only has the scheme improved the living quality of our society but it has also encouraged property developers to look into developing more affordable homes for Penangites.

From the video on Ramah’s journey screened earlier, I am truly amazed by the top-notch facilities it offers despite its affordable pricing which had started from RM198k for unit sizes ranging from 800 sq ft to 1,350 sq ft. Another highlight is its serene location where residents can enjoy clean air and abundant greenery.

Herewith, before I end my speech, I would like to congratulate M Summit Group for its wonderful work done and I look forward to officiating more inspiring projects like this from you in the near future.

Thank you.
