SPEECH BY CHIEF MINISTER’S 
AT THE OPENING OF THE GRAVITYZ

As the Chief Minister of Penang, it is an honour to be present at the official opening of the World’s Highest Ropes Course Challenge! At the top of Penang’s Tallest Building, Komtar Penang!

At 239m high, The Gravityz is the fruitful culmination of a RM4 million investment by the private sector. This very ropes course features 6 different and unique obstacle challenges designed to test your fear of heights. They are: the Confidence Path, High Bench, X-Point, A High Bridge, Z-Wire and G-Rocky. All in all, the ropes course trail is 100m long. What’s more, I have gotten word that the Bungy Jumping activity too will be added in as well at the end of this year.

Furthermore, I am proud to announce that The Gravityz is using top-of-the-line safety gear manufactured in Switzerland and Italy. I have been informed that the safety gear is extremely reliable as the equipment is certified by the European Union and TUV. That alone speaks volumes about The Gravityz’s commitment towards safety.

The Gravityz is certainly not the first ropes course to be set up in Malaysia- there are already a number of them throughout the country, in states such as Selangor and Malacca- nor the first one in Asia, with famous ones such as AJ Hackett in Macau.

However, The Gravityz can bravely and boldly lay claim to being the World’s Highest Ropes Course – a world record. That is definitely another feather in the cap for Penang and Malaysia.
