First and foremost, I would like to express my appreciation to Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd for inviting me to grace and officiate the Grand Opening of NIU EBike showroom here in Gurney Plaza, one of the top shopping destinations in Penang.

I would like to congratulate Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd, for another milestone in their achievement, especially in the motorcycle and scooter industries.

Penang has come a long way in its progress on manufacturing, tourism and services industries. Over the years, all these economic activities have put Penang in the world map. The healthy industry environment has also attracted continuous investment in the state.

As Penang continues to progress, it will not be spared of the increase in traffic flow. The state government will continue its effort and initiatives, in improving its infrastructures and transportation plan to ease the congestion of traffic.

The state government is looking into various means of transportation mode for the convenience of Penangnites. One of the ways is to encourage the use of public transportation. I admit there is still a lot of improvement and fine tuning to be done.

Another convenient mode of transport to move around, are the bicycles, motorcycles and scooters. They have been around and used by many in Penang. In fact, I can safely quote that almost every family in Penang owns a motorcycle or scooter.

In line with Penang’s vision of a clean and green state, it is timely and heartening to know that corporates and local companies are also doing their part in contributing to the success of achieving the aspiration.

Thus, the idea of encouraging the use of electric scooter is very much welcomed. MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd, with its cooperation with NIU International, have joined forces to introduce the World’s First Electric Scooter, named NIU, to Malaysians, especially Penangites, who are passionate about a green and smart state concept.

NIU Electric Scooter, as I was informed, is the No 1 Smart E-Scooter in the world, in terms of unit sold, countries riding in and with a total 1 Billion kilometers ridden globally. With the opening of its showroom, Penangites will be able to test ride and feel the comfort of riding the NIU Electric Scooter.

With that, I like to once again thank Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd and NIU International for bringing the product to Penang.

I, hereby officially open the NIU Ebike showroom in Gurney Plaza and once again I would congratulate Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd and NIU International. I wish them great success in their endeavor.
