Aspen Group Hari Raya Open House & Signing Ceremony
Speech by Chief Minister of Penang
At Aspen Group Hari Raya Open House & Signing Ceremony
22 June 2019
Aspen Vision City Sales Gallery, Batu Kawan
Good evening everyone.
Firstly, allow me to express how pleased I am to be here with all of you as part of the Aspen Group and Geo Valley family at this Hari Raya Open House.
Festive Open Houses have always been a great platform for networking, strengthening bonds as well as a gesture of appreciation to all that supports us. Aspen Group is generous to share the festive cheer with their guests while they also honour them as their witnesses for the agreement signing ceremony that is going to take place between Aspen Group and Geo Valley Sdn Bhd.
Aspen Group, needless to say, has been continuously setting a new benchmark for themselves to reach greater heights as well as setting new goals each time they embark on the completion journey of a new development project.
The tagline – ‘Redefine Living’ – says everything of the Group as it is common knowledge that their projects have always incorporated elements that will surely redefine the lifestyle of their occupants.
From my understanding of this signing ceremony for the agreement, Aspen Group will acquire a piece of 29.05 acre land in Air Itam for a residential development that is made up of communal facilities, serviced apartments, retail shoplots and a clubhouse. It’s located in a prime location with various facilities and amenities which can be easily found in close proximity.
But what attracted me most among these offered facilities is, there will be a dialysis centre that will be open for all. It shows how Aspen Group never fails to put the people’s welfare first in their development plan. I have joined the topping off ceremony of Aspen Group’s first private-initiated affordable housing project, Tri Pinnacle, in Tanjung Tokong, last year, and now I am already looking forward to the completion of this new development. Not to forget, moreover, of the Group’s initiative to transform Aspen Vision City, which was once a hinterland, into a smart city in the making now.
As Aspen Group is acquiring this piece of land from Geo Valley, they will also be responsible for a stretch of the Jalan Bukit Kukus paired road project. The Group now shoulders the responsibility of having to complete one of the stretches of this paired road and I am confident that they will deliver the work on schedule and of course do a good job.
Also needs to be mentioned here is that another stretch of 2.8km road, financed and constructed by the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) is now 75% completed. The state government expects this 2.8km stretch to be ready by next year.
This paired road will greatly benefit the residents of the area as the paired road will connect Bandar Baru Air Itam and Relau which will serve to beat the well-known massive bottleneck that always happen at peak hours.
I believe this development is a great catalyst for urbanisation which will benefit the local residents and the constituency. This development will further prosper the area and we hope for more similar projects in time to come that gives importance to the people’s needs and conveniences especially in healthcare facilities as exemplified by the dialysis centre.
On a final note, I wish Aspen Group and Geo Valley all the best and I am honoured to witness the event today.
I wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
Thank you.
