A very good morning to all,

First of all, I would like to wish Selamat Datang or Welcome to all of you, especially those who have come all the way from China to be here today. It is indeed an honour and a privilege for me to be part of the inaugural International Electronics Elite Forum and International Electronics Elite Run, an event I believe will be the bridge between electronics manufacturing companies in not only Penang and Shenzhen, but various nations as a whole.
首先，我谨代表槟州政府欢迎在座的各位来到槟城。很荣幸可以在此参与第一届世界电子精英高峰论坛及世界电子精英长跑赛，相信是次活动将成为槟城和深圳，乃至于与各个国家的电子制造企业间的友好桥梁。
Manufacturing has long been the backbone of Penang’s economy, contributing 44.8% of the state’s GDP as of 2017. Penang has also long been recognized as an important international hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing hubs in the world, thus giving Penang the name as the Silicon Valley of the East.
制造业一直是槟城的经济支柱，在2017年占州生产总值的44.8%。槟城一向来被公认为是世界电子和半导体制造中心的重要国际枢纽，并为此被誉为东方矽谷。
With over 300 MNCs from America, Europe and all around the world operating in Penang, the Penang State Government is committed to transform Penang into an international city and state that is the location of choice for global manufacturing investors. Penang is currently home to numerous high-tech multinational firms including Intel, AMD, Agilent, Dell, Osram, Sony, Seagate and Bosch etc, of which I believe they are also present here today.
槟州政府致力于将槟城打造为国际城市和州属，成为全球制造业投资者的首选投资目的地。目前，分别来自美国、欧洲和世界各地逾300家跨国公司选择在槟城投资和运作，当中不乏是高科技跨国公司，包括英特尔、AMD、安捷伦、戴尔、欧司朗、索尼、希捷和博世公司，相信他们也出席了今天的活动。
Ladies and Gentlemen,
女士们、先生们
Shenzhen has mirrored Penang’s electronics industry prowess in China, becoming an important hub for electronics manufacturing in China. Many of China’s international electronics industry players have set up their headquarters as in Shenzhen, making Shenzhen a city with the most complete world-class electronics industrial supply chain. The linking of Shenzhen’s complete manufacturing industrial chain with Penang’s electronics industry in undoubtedly consolidating for both sides.
深圳反映了槟城在中国的电子产业实力，以成为中国电子制造业的重要枢纽。中国许多国际电子企业都选择在深圳设立总部，使深圳成为拥有最完整的世界级电子工业供应链的城市。深圳完整的制造业产业链与槟城电子产业间的链接，无疑将进一步巩固和加强双方的地位。
Penang has achieved RM8.8billion of total approved manufacturing investment in Q1 2019, top the rank among all states in Malaysia. Among the RM8.8 billion investment value, E&E sectors has accounted for about 95%. The E&E sector in Malaysia has grew by 6.4% in 2018 and contributed RM380.8 billion or 39.4 percent of total merchandise exports in 2018, of which Penang has played a significant role in the sector.
槟城在今年首季吸引超过88亿令吉的制造业投资总额，成为国内投资额最高的州属，而电子和电气领域就贡献了当中的95%。另一方面，马来西亚的电子和电气领域在2018年增长了6.4%，出口额为3808亿令吉，占我国全年出口总额的39.4%，而槟城在此中发挥了重要作用。

Let’s make this International Electronics Elite Forum and Run the starting point for us to work together to bring Penang and Shenzhen closer and to further strengthen the bonds that have already been forged between the firms that are already steadily progressing here in Penang.
让我们以这场世界电子精英高峰论坛及长跑赛为起点，共同努力拉近槟城与深圳之间的关系，并进一步加强与已在槟稳健发展的企业的联系。
Thus, with great pleasure, I officiate the opening of the 1st International Electronics Elite Forum 2019.
