时光似箭，刚过中秋，很快我们又即将迎来农历新年，而槟城庙会也不知不觉已来到第25年。
自1999年开始，经历了25年风雨的槟城庙会，已经是家喻户晓的文化品牌。除了倡扬文化，也深度策展教科书以外的历史人文，并唤醒新一代的年轻人参与学习与传承。因此，槟州政府对槟城庙会这张著名的文化名片十分认真对待和肯定的。
The Miao Hui celebration in Penang has a history of 25 years after it was first started in 1999. This annual event is now an important cultural brand in Penang for the promotion of traditional culture practices and history for the younger generation as part of their inheritance and learning beyond the use of books. With such an objective of the annual Miao Hui celebration, the Penang state government takes great pride in its promotion and affirms our strong support for its programmes.
据我所知，从今年的4月份开始，传承者志工团队为了在2024甲辰年给大家带来最令人回味的槟城庙会，已经如火如荼地展开筹备工作。换言之，他们每年完成当年的庙会活动后，就即刻展开下一年的庙会策划。这样的精神延续了25年，槟州政府对传承者们的用心感到非常欣慰。
I was told that the volunteers for Miao Hui have since April this year been preparing for next year’s Miao Hui event. This means that once they have completed the Miao Hui event for the current year, they will immediately start planning and work on the Miao Hui event of the following year. This has continued for the past 25 years and the Penang state government wish to commend on this spirit of the volunteers.
传承者们每一年都通过和古迹区20多家宗祠会馆的配合，再加上街道以及舞台的策展，让大家可以实体感受即将离我们远去的文化瑰宝，这包括历史故事，传统行业，手艺以及美食等。
在此，我宣布由槟州各姓氏宗祠联委会主办，传承者策划及协调的2024甲辰年槟城庙会将在2024年2月18日（年初九）在槟城古迹区隆重登场，所涵盖的范围包括乔治市古迹区12条街道及逾20家上百年的宗祠，会馆及庙宇。
2024甲辰年槟城庙会的主题为【我们的故事】，除了展示先贤留下来的喜庆习俗，也将带民众领略我们的先人当时带领主流的各个行业背后的故事。
I would like to announce that the 2024 Miao Hui, to be hosted by the Penang Chinese Clan Council and planned and coordinated by the Inheritors will be held in the George Town Heritage Site on 18 February 2024 (which corresponds with the 9th day of Chinese New Year). The Miao Hui event venue will cover the 12 streets in the George Town Heritage Area and includes the participation of more than 20 ancestral halls, guild halls and temples which are more than a century old.
The theme for Miao Hui 2024 is “Our Story”. Apart from displaying the customs or cultural practices we inherited from our forefathers, the public will also get to appreciate the stories behind the occupations or industries pioneered by them at the time when they first arrived in Penang.
槟城庙会海纳百川，我在此呼吁大家踊跃参与这项有意义的活动。另外有意参与表演或设摊的文化单位，可以上槟城庙会的面子书索取表格进行报名。
我想，我应该也参加了20多年的槟城庙会，但每一年都有不一样的感受，获益良多。今年，我期待各位志工在宗联委以及传承者的带领下，将会为我们带来的更精彩的庙会。据我了解，今年传承者们也希望可将槟城庙会推广至国际，让外国游客每当农历新年时，就会想到槟城庙会。
I think I have participated in the Miao Hui event for more than 20 years and yet, I still have a different feeling every year and I am still learning with each of my annual participation. For next year’s Miao Hui event, I look forward to the exciting temple fairs that all the volunteers, under the leadership of the clan council and Inheritors, will bring to us. From my understanding, the Inheritors plan to promote Miao Hui 2024 to an international audience so that foreign tourists will think of the Miao Hui event during the Lunar New Year celebrations.
在这方面，槟州政府会讨论并拟定一些宣传政策，以互相配合将槟城庙会这品牌，发展至国际知名的品牌。
In this regard, the Penang state government will discuss and formulate some publicity policies to cooperate with the Penang Chinese Clan Council and Inheritors to develop the Miao Hui annual event into an internationally renowned brand. Thank you.
最后，期待旅居海外的游子们，国内外的游客们回乡过年，我们到时一起在槟城庙会见！
