Ladies & Gentlemen

A very good morning to all of you.

I would like to thank M Summit Group for inviting me to witness this momentous event today.

My heartiest congratulations to M Summit for receiving two MBR awards for the Highest Cantilevered Acrylic Bottom Swimming Pool and the Tallest Automated Hotel Car Park. This will definitely be a big boost to M Summit’s newly rebranded The Granite Luxury Hotel.

Gaining an entry in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) also speak volumes of the “Can-Do Spirit” shown by M Summit and more importantly, by the people of Penang. In the era of recovery and rejuvenation after two years of what all of us have been through, it is now time to heal and to regain the momentum we lost. I sincerely applaud the M Summit team for setting your priorities right to be an exemplary achiever for others to follow.

Within a small footprint of land, the car park can play its part in helping to address parking woes in the city while The Mirage swimming pool will be a unique attraction for visitors to Penang. Those coming to see me at my office in Komtar can also see the pool and car park through the glass windows.

On Dato’ Albert’s suggestion to compile a list of MBR-listed attractions in the state and promote it to tourists, we will definitely give it due consideration.

Penang is indeed lucky to be surrounded with so many wonderful award-winning places of interest. And they are all an asset to our tourism industry and development here. All of these “factor in” to give each of us an added reason to LovePenang even more. We are blessed to live and work in a state with so much potential and to LovePenang is for us to return its shine despite the past two years of Covid-19 hardship. Together, we can all make it happen!

Before I end my speech, I would like to congratulate M Summit Group once again for winning the MBR and Asia Pacific awards; and I look forward to witnessing more inspiring feats like these from you in the near future.
