LOVEPENANG YOUTH NIGHT CONCERT BY PYDC

Greetings and Salam Sejahtera
It is with great pleasure and a warm welcome that I stand before you today at Dewan Sri Pinang for the “LovePENANG Youth Night Concert”, organized by the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC). Tonight, we gather here to celebrate and honour the artistic talents of our youth, an occasion that I am certain will hold a special place in our hearts.
As the Penang State Government, our commitment has always been to foster the holistic development of our beloved state, in keeping with our LovePENANG campaign and the visionary Penang2030 initiative. In keeping with this spirt, we have placed significant emphasis on empowering our youth through various initiatives, including the arts, under the guidance of the Penang State EXCO for Youth and Sports and PYDC.
Ladies and gentlemen,
As the Chief Minister of Penang, I take great pride in witnessing our young talent pool, full of energy and spirit, while giving their best for tonight’s performances. This LovePENANG Youth Night is truly an extraordinary event orchestrated by PYDC, shining a spotlight on the youth performers from their esteemed "Youth With Rhythm" platform.
The “Youth With Rhythm” serves as a powerful catalyst for empowering young talents in the field of artistic performances. Through this platform, talented youths are encouraged to register, and if selected by our esteemed panel of judges, they are given the opportunity to perform at formal events, including state functions.
Accordingly, I am delighted to announce that our youth performers from the Youth With Rhythm platform have graced various state events, including the recent Rumah Terbuka Aidilfitri Malaysia Madani Negeri Pulau Pinang, in the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister.
This Youth With Rhythm platform is one of PYDC’s many initiatives and similar to tonight’s Youth Night, it is a testament of the State Government’s commitment to continue empowering the youth as we bring our community to come together and show support for our youth performers.
Ladies and gentlemen,
As many are aware, PYDC is a state agency that focuses on the development our youth, and over the years, PYDC has grown exponentially in their commitment to youth development. In alignment with the “Youth For Future” initiative launched in 2019 by YB Soon Lip Chee, PYDC focuses on three main pillars, which are Economic Development, Social Development, and Self Development.
Looking ahead, PYDC has an array of exciting programs and initiatives in store for the youth of Penang. These include the upcoming International Youth Conference, the highly anticipated "Be A Star" Talent Live Competition, the captivating Blank Canvas mural arts series, and the Penang Youth Volunteer programme.
Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to strongly encourage our youth to explore these initiatives and opportunities, as they not only contribute to their personal growth but also propel our collective efforts towards the realization of the Penang2030 vision of "A Family-Focused Green and Smart State that Inspires the Nation".
Having said that, I eagerly anticipate the awe-inspiring performances that await us tonight, and on behalf of the Penang State Government, I extend our utmost pride and support to each and every one of our performers.
Rest assured that, along with PYDC, we will continue to stand behind our youth by providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential and achieve greatness.
In closing, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to PYDC and the organizing committee for their unwavering dedication in making this event a resounding success. I look forward to more spectacular events like today that showcase the immense talent and potential of our youth. Together, let us persist in nurturing and empowering the young generation, thereby creating a more vibrant and prosperous future for Penang.
