大家晚上好！很荣幸受邀出席威省金银饰品商业公会庆祝成立62周年晚宴，与大家共同见证这个有意义的时刻。
各位，威省金银饰品商业公会走过62载，在各位会员的共同努力下，取得了今日的辉煌成就。黄金行业作为我国的重要领域之一，公会的角色至关重要。特别是威省占有全国约80%的黄金制造加工厂，这对槟州及大马经济贡献尤为显著。
“槟州的未来在威省”，威省作为一个充满发展潜能的地区，具备吸引外资投资的独特优势。我们希望通过2024年PWGS黄金展销会和今晚的晚宴，向投资者展示槟城和威省的发展潜力和商机，热烈欢迎各位投资者前来考察和投资。
各位，马来西亚的黄金珠宝行业提供了很多就业机会，并创造了可观的收入。预计到了2029年，马来西亚珠宝市场的规模将达到40亿美元。槟城在这领域发挥着关键作用，而且这次的展览预计将对槟州带来约1800万令吉的经济影响。
鉴于80%的黄金制造加工厂设立在威省，黄金从业者也一直期待将槟城打造成黄金交易(jiao1 yi4)中心。借助天时、地利、人和的有利因素，这一目标指日可待。到时，槟州政府将全力支持和配合这项发展。
我也希望公会将这场展会打造成年度品牌活动，期待展会越办越精彩。同时也祝贺马来西亚金钻珠宝商联合总会成功推出47周年特刊。这本特刊意义深远，记录了联合总会创会历史、各属会的点滴以及行内的重大盛事，相信这本特刊将成为黄金行业的珍贵宝典。

Good evening to you all, It is an honor to be present at this gala and award dinner for the PWGS Trade Fair 2024. Tonight, we celebrate not only the success of this prestigious event but also the vibrant spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines our gold and jewelry industry.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the organizers of the PWGS Trade Fair for your dedication and hard work that have made this event a beacon of excellence in the gold and jewelry sector, attracting over 100 booths from more than 50 companies worldwide. This year marks the 7th anniversary of this remarkable fair, truly a testament to its growing significance and success in the industry. Additionally, I am also proud to see fellow Penangites actively engaging and thriving in this industry, with over 20 Penang based-companies present here today. Kudos to all of you!
To our esteemed exhibitors, your continuous support and participation are the cornerstones of this event. Your exquisite designs and high-quality craftsmanship have captivated the hearts of buyers and visitors alike, showcasing the very best of what the gold and jewelry industry has to offer.
The economic impact of the gold and jewelry industry in Malaysia and Southeast Asia is profound. In Malaysia alone, the industry contributes significantly to our economy, employing thousands and generating substantial revenue. The Malaysian jewelry market is poised for continued growth, with projections estimating a market size of USD 4 billion by 2029, Penang, in particular, plays a crucial role, producing over 70 percent of the nation’s gold jewelry. In this regard, this event alone is positioned to contribute an estimated economic impact (EEI) of RM18 million towards the state.
On a broader scale, Southeast Asia is a vibrant destination for gold and jewelry, with Malaysia ranking fourth in the region. This industry not only drives economic growth but also preserves our rich cultural heritage through intricate designs inspired by our diverse ethnic backgrounds.
Tonight, let us also celebrate the exceptional talent within our industry. Thus, I would like to congratulate all the award winners. Your creativity, dedication, and excellence set new standards for our industry and inspire us all to reach greater heights.
As we look ahead, let us continue to foster a culture of creativity and innovation. By working together, we can ensure that Malaysia remains a leading destination for gold and jewelry, admired globally for our artistry and craftsmanship.
With that I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) for their pivotal role in inviting international buyers to this event.
In addition, I would also like to acknowledge the initiatives of the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB). PCEB has been instrumental in promoting Penang as a premier destination for business events, enhancing our global reputation and driving economic growth in the region. Their strategic efforts in facilitating seamless event experiences and attracting high-value exhibitions have significantly contributed to the success of events like this Trade Fair. We look forward to continued collaboration with PCEB to further elevate Penang's status in the global market.
